Vinci Construction Go Digital

SFL have successfully migrated Vinci Construction over from it's existing analogue radio system to a new digital technology Motorola Mototrbo system as part of Network Rail's £153 million re-development contract of King's Cross station in London.

Over 50 two way radios with Motorola Impres accessories have been deployed within the development to offer Vinci and subcontractors:

• Clearer audio via digital radio to help assure messages are understood without background noise and static;
• 40% longer battery life for extended shift hours;
• Increased capacity - twice the number of users for the price of one Ofcom channel, which is crucial in such a congested area as London.
• Extremely rugged equipment suited to the harshest of environments, the DP range of handportables are even submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes, ideal for construction users of all scales.

Following on from the King's Cross success, SFL have now supplied, via the Radio Hire Department, the digital radio solution to many Vinci Projects throughout the UK, as the benefits offer an excellent solution to on-site communications within the construction industry.
