2 Way Radio Repeaters
What are 2 way radio repeaters?
In order to increase a coverage area than you would receive with standard radio to radio communications, you will need to implement a repeater into your system, or even a series of linked repeaters. SFL Mobile Radio on planning your system will advise you if a repeater may be required, however, options include:
Have a look at our range of repeater equipment available to hire:
Digital / Analogue Motorola DR3000 Repeater
By far SFL’s most common repeater with over 200 in our hire stock, when this kit is deployed it will offer undisturbed service throughout the hire.
The DR 3000 repeater is a continuous-duty unit that supports two simultaneous voice or data paths in digital TDMA mode. It mounts easily in wall or rack systems.
This repeater is part of the MOTOTRBO series, delivering increased capacity and spectrum efficiency, integrated data communications and enhanced voice communications through a complete solution.
This repeater can be used in analogue mode for analogue 2 way radio systems.
Icom IC-FR3100 / 4100. VHF / UHF Analogue Repeater
A fantastic performing analogue repeater, the IC-FR3100/FR4100 repeater series is compact in design. This sophisticated radio product will instantaneously retransmit received audio without any noticeable delay and extend the operating range of a radio scheme even further. Designed to enhance coverage of a two-way radio system, the IC-FR3100/F4100 can be added to an existing radio system.
Two versions are available, IC-FR3100 for VHF, for wide area or the IC-FR4100 UHF version for on site systems. Incorporating a large heat sink, cooling fan and high performance power amplifier, the repeater provides a stable 25W of output power allowing a radio scheme to be boosted beyond the range of normal Private Mobile Radio (PMR) networks.
Motorola SLR5500 Slimline High Power Repeater
The 2015 is a new addition to the SFL Hire Fleet further enhancing our already ‘state-of-the-art’ fleet. MOTOTRBO SLR 5500 Series repeater delivers high performance, high reliability two-way radio service with all the latest digital technology. It integrates voice and data seamlessly, offering advanced but easy to use features, engineered with low power consumption for a low cost of ownership.
The repeater supports Digital Conventional, IP Site Connect, Capacity Plus, Linked Capacity Plus, Connect Plus, mixed mode Digital/Analogue and also Analogue Conventional and MPT 1327 systems. The IP interface allows you to build applications and consoles directly into your system. The repeater has been validated through Motorola’s Accelerated Life Testing Program and meets stringent quality criteria.
The SLR 5500 marks the next generation of Motorola repeaters with 10 times more processing power, 15 times more memory, 12 times more storage, creating the provision for future expansion. The repeater is easy to service with field replaceable power amplifier, modems and power supplies that can all be replaced individually and with the SLR 5500’s internal self-test capability you can be assured the service was successful. Motorola have improved the power efficiency of repeaters with the SLR 5500 consuming 40% less power than the previous model in standby mode and 15% less power in operational mode and it is made from environmentally friendly materials.
Peli Case Transportable Digital Repeater
SFL Mobile Radio has developed our Peli case digital repeater as a rapid deployment system. Available in VHF or UHF variant, and comes complete with Duplexer, and battery back-up.
Ideal for rapid deployment of a radio system as an ‘all in one’ solution. The Peli case has been used for many short term and long term applications such as weekend events, off-shore windfarms, oil rigs and tunnelling projects where several repeaters are linked.Download Specification
Repeater Antenna Options
The repeater infrastructure is only ever as good as the antenna that is attached to it.
Antennae are available in many shapes, forms and frequency bandwidths, hence the importance that the antenna selection is correct.
As antennae manufacturers ourselves with Sure Antennas, we certainly
have the in-house expertise in order to design your radio infrastructure.
Our mast solutions can be hired from 1 day to 1 year. Please contact our sales team for further information.
