Lone Worker and Man Down feature for Two-way radio systems
An estimate 6.8 million people living in the UK are lone workers, covering a wide array of sectors. It is important to protect your team and create a safe working environment for these lone workers which includes having a plan in place for accidents. Two-way radios can help by using the Lone Worker and Man Down features available on many mid-tier licenced radios.
- Increase user safety
- Alert alarm via button or titled radio
- GPS tracking
- Control room can monitor radios
How the Lone Worker function works
Available on many mid to upper tier licenced two-way radios, the Lone worker feature works by sounding tones at pre set intervals which the lone worker must respond to by pressing the PTT button. If the Lone worker fails to press the button within the set time limit the radio will go into emergency mode and help can then be sent to them.
How the Man Down function works
As the name suggests the Man Down function is designed to protect a worker if they are injured or fall down. There are motion sensors within the radio that automatically sends and emergency call if the radio is positioned in an irregular orientation for a period of time. In case of an active emergency the radio will emit an audio beacon which can be used in conjunction with GPS to help locate the injured worker.
