Icom utilise IP network for advanced radio system
Posted 05 April 2016
Icom’s new innovative IP advanced radio system provides the ability to contact any member of your staff at any time utilising an existing or new WLAN or IP network.
The WLAN based system offers a scalable license-free communication system using standard wireless networking products infrastructure, infrastructures that in many cases, may already be in place.
Icom’s IP Advanced Radio System is a viable alternative to traditional analogue/digital two way radio systems.
The IP Radio system can be used like a normal/selcal radio system with individual and group calling.
The controller has the technology to group calls and for putting individual calls through and all of this is done by giving each individual handportable a personality on the system.
It’s a direct replacement to radio systems with additional capacity, but using different technology. The cost implications against traditional analogue and digital technology are huge and could offer large savings.
Icom report initial enquiries and field tests have come from a variety of sources such as mines, sports stadiums and skyscrapers highlighting the diversity of the IP system.
