Two way radios help organise Merseyside School Games Summer Festival

SFL Mobile Radio recently worked together with Merseyside Sports Partnership supplying two way radios to help co-ordinate the Merseyside School Games Summer Festival.

The 2016 event on Friday July 8, saw approximately 100 school teams from all over Merseyside compete across 17 sporting events to become overall Merseyside champions.

With over one thousand young people to manage, two way radios played a crucial role on the day. The organisers hired 25 Icom IC-F44G hand-held radios for officials on the day.

Commenting on the equipment used Holly Budgen, Merseyside Sports Partnership’s Marketing and Events Officer said: “The radios hired from SFL Mobile Radio formed a crucial element of the event infrastructure.

“They allowed us to communicate across the large event site effectively to manage safety and security – something which was paramount, particularly given most of the attendees were children.

“We also appreciated SFL’s flexible approach when it came to drop off and pick up of the kit.”

The IC-F44G radio is rugged and reliable while also being small and lightweight, it features a wide frequency range, multiple signalling and loud audio.

The festival organisers also hired one Motorola DM3400 mobile radio which was programmed to analogue mode to communicate with the analogue hand-held radios.
