SFL Support NEO Community’s Queens Jubilee Street Party

SFL supply the hire of Motorola DP4400e Digital Radios.

Established in 2013, NEO Community are a charitable organisation who support the local community, including an incredible 32,356 families during the pandemic alone. They host various events such as a kids club, activity days, picnics and residential trips. They also run an open access community club, this gives everyone in the community a chance to voice their opinion and be heard. Helping to create a positive change for all.

NEO’s centre consists of a Community Café, Social supermarket and other similar services which operate on a ‘pay-as-you-feel’ system. The pay as you feel system allows people to pay a price which is affordable for them. If affordability is an issue, people can also volunteer their time to provide additional support at the centre.

The Requirement for Two Way Radios

After recently winning the Queens Award for Voluntary Service, who better than NEO to bring the community together to celebrate The Queens Platinum Jubilee.
Like most of the country, NEO closed off the road for a street party to celebrate the occasion. Meaning the whole local community could get involved.
With the scale of the event and safety measures that came with it, there were many potential risks that needed to be considered. To ensure the event ran smoothly and safely, NEO required two way radio support.

In order to help with the essential communication; Lewis, the Youth and Marketing Officer at NEO, approached SFL Mobile Radio. SFL were happy to provide the support for NEO. By supplying the hire of Motorola DP4400e Digital Radios and earpieces free of charge.
The two way radios ensured the staff at NEO could maintain contact throughout the duration of the event. Making sure everything ran easily and safely. The event included a street barbecue, food stalls, stage with a DJ and bands, and children’s entertainment throughout the day.

 

The Hire Experience from SFL

When speaking with Lewis after the event about how the radios were for the team, he explained:
