SFL help London Basket Brigade support families in need at Christmas

In keeping with the season of goodwill, SFL has again donated two-way radios to the London Basket Brigade to assist with their annual festive event.

The Basket Brigade pack and deliver food hampers as a Christmas surprise for unsuspecting families in need.

This year hundreds of volunteers will come together on December 23rd to build over 1500 hampers that will then be delivered to families across London who struggle to put food on the table at Christmas.
SFL was glad to support The Basket Brigade’s 2017 event and are delighted to be involved with such a good cause again this year:
Basket Brigade 2018 Chair, Giles Button said: “The radios were fantastic last year and we’ve realised a couple more will help even more for this year’s event.

“The leaders use the radios to communicate with each other. As we’re spread out across quite a big site, with two halls, four car parks and approximately 900 people, they really help.

“One of the biggest uses is within the car park team, with over 400 cars to park across there needs to be good communication to direct and prioritise traffic.”

The Basket Brigade has found working with SFL a smooth process at what is an exceptionally busy time for the group.

Mr Button added: “SFL have been amazing. As soon as they agreed to gift us the use of the radio’s, one of the team rang and arranged delivery and collection of the radio’s to fit in with our timetable and working around the Christmas period.”
