SFL provide short term radio solution for local charity

Last month SFL Mobile radio were delighted to provide local charity ‘Help Link’ with 10 Motorola Solutions DP4400 radios to help support their annual Hillbark Ball.

Help Link provides vital services for the elderly, sick and impaired across the Wirral including transportation, shopping and friendship via a network of loyal and dedicated volunteers.

The ball which takes place in the Hillbark hotel is organised by the Wirral social fundraising society with all proceeds going to support the charities worthy causes. With its launch year being in 2017 the charity was overwhelmed with the success and popularity of the event and an initial 100 tickets quickly escalated to over 400. As a consequence the organisers found it incredibly tricky to manage the event on the night which was amplified by having numerous elements to deal with including auctions, entertainment and volunteers. The result of this was a lot of running around all over the venue in order to find the right person!

With lessons learnt from 2017 Help Link approached SFL Mobile Radio to provide radios for the event. After hearing about the charity and its good work SFL were delighted to offer the radios free of charge.

When asked how the team found the radios, charity ambassador Catherine Sandow commented that ‘The team found the radio’s invaluable. It completely transformed the evening. Each committee member had one, and we gave one to the hotel, the entertainers, the band, the MC and the AV team which meant we were able to iron out any issues that arose very quickly.’

Catherine’s praise also extended to SFL commenting ‘SFL Radio have been amazing. The radios were delivered to the office, we then got taught how to use them. And they picked them up again the day after the event. They could not have been more helpful, and we can’t thank them enough for their support’.
