Charity Family Fun Day a Success with the Help of Radios from SFL

Based on the Wirral, Involve North West are a non-profit organisation that prioritise the wellbeing of individuals and families throughout the local area. Providing support for over 20 years, Involve North West’s services include; employment support, welfare and benefits advice along with domestic abuse support.

With the community at the heart of the organisation, Involve are there to encourage individuals to address what it is affecting them. By providing the support and the resources to help empower.

Preparing for the Family Fun Day

They recently decided to host a Family Fun day in their car park for the community to get together and enjoy.

When preparing for the event, there were many health and safety factors identified. Although the car park was small, they knew a lot of people will be in attendance at the event. So it was important that staff and volunteers were able to contact each other quick and efficiently.

Two Way Radio Support for the Event

The team at Involve North West saw two way radios as the best solution to support this. They had used them in the past but wanted to re-introduce them at events with a big attendance. Because of how useful and important they are for safeguarding visitors, volunteers and staff.

Already having previous awareness of the company, Wellbeing Hub Officer Harriet recommended SFL Mobile Radio to deliver the solution.

The licenced Motorola radios provided for event, ensured that staff and volunteers had a secure and efficient source of communication.

A Successful Event

Over 450 people turned up for the event, raising a total of £500. The money raised will pay for food and hygiene provisions for individuals and families in the community.

Some of the activities included a clown, magic show, face painting and therapy ponies. Stalls at the event involved ones selling goods, activities including a tombola and also wellbeing stalls. The wellbeing stalls provided an informative and beneficial services for all that attended. Including support for new parents, men’s mental health, domestic abuse and also companies such as United Utilities.

Other visitors included the local Fire Service with a Fire engine, Police community support officer and the local Mayor.

How Two Way Radio Hire Supported Communication

Having the radio support for the event meant that staff and volunteers could communicate any changes quickly. There was no need to run around for a first aider if required, the radios ensured a quick, clear means for communication.

When talking about the event and how the radios were, Harriet explained;

“Absolutely brilliant, worked perfectly fine they were so clear. Just so convenient, even on a medium setting it was still loud and clear, no delay”

Discussing the overall experience with SFL, Harriet clarified that it was “Absolutely brilliant, the easiest thing to arrange”.

Detailing the process further, Harriet stated;

“I sent out the enquiry and had the response within an hour from Neil and it was so detailed with everything we needed.”

SFL are delighted to have donated the two way radios to support communication throughout the event.
